Got the new Falken Azenis put on, seems like a very good tire.

I'll of course have to find an appropriate place to really test them at which time I'll tell you about it here. In the meantime I'll leave you with some pictures:

Well it finally happened, one of my beloved SO3s finally took a fatal shot through the tread by a nail.

I was driving back from picking up items from Chico and aparently picked up a nail at some point. I only felt a small vibration as they are 245/45s, so I didn't realize it was as bad as it was. It started towards the end of my drive, somewhere in the last 7 miles of a 220 mile trip. I should have pulled over and checked it out but I didn't feel like it at 3AM. So the next morning the tire was flat and so I put some air in it to drive it in the driveway to put the snow tires on the back until I could get it fixed. I pulled off the tire and realized it had been destroyed as I drove it for too long on the sidewall, damn negative cambre! Well it set it to the side and put the snow tire on, and as I did, the SO3 exploded. Sounded like a gun shot. Am glad that it didn't do that while it was on the car!

How it should look: (this one's from the other side.)

This is how the flat one looked:
